Lauren has always been artistic yet altogether rather practical.  Even as a child she would twist old telephone wires to make bracelets for her friends.

Born in the U.K. to British parents, but raised all over the world,  Lauren found that a clumsy telephone wire bracelet would often break the ice between her and a new (sometimes non-English-speaking) friend.

This unusual upbringing opened Lauren’s eyes to the many different cultures, flora & fauna, and colours out there in this big, beautiful world. 

To this day, Lauren is influenced by her travels - and still enjoys making and wearing jewellery that helps strike up a conversation!

Lauren is almost entirely self-taught, but it was when her eye-catching jewellery kept receiving compliments from strangers on the New York subway that she realised she could forge a career as an artist.

She launched flaurena™ in December 2008.

Lauren currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and dog who both make her howl with laughter every day.
